About

Our chapter has a rich history that begins with its inception over 6 decades ago, by Unionites who returned to New York as University ambassadors. Our members come from all over New York City. Our meetings have consistently been held in the epicenter of African American Culture, none other than HARLEM, then and now.

Some aspects of the Virginia Union University experience was the same for all of us: studying for finals, attending chapel service, walking across the yard, or hanging out in the Henderson Center aka "the Hendo." As Unionites these shared experiences define our sense of community, as New Yorkers our time on 'they hallowed grounds and dear old walls' connect us. As the New York Alumni chapter we embody true Union spirit by working together as a group of seasoned and young alumni to promote the mission and vision of the University.
